'Memo van een vezel' is het stuk muziek dat de basis vormde voor een installatie-werk dat meerdere weken in het Textielmuseum te bezoeken was in de zomer van 2021. Als Stadscomponist van Tilburg probeer ik onder andere lokale geschiedenis invoelbaar te maken. In 'Memo van een vezel' staat de lokale geschiedenis van kinderarbeid en uitbuiting in de Nederlandse textielindustrie centraal. Het stuk muziek is gemaakt met fieldrecordings die zijn opgenomen in en rond de nog deels functionerende textielmachinerie in Tilburg.

'Memo van een vezel' formed the musical basis of my installation work for TextielMuseum last summer. As City Composer of Tilburg, I try - amongst other things - to make local history tangible. 'Memo van een vezel' focuses on the local history of social exploitation in the Dutch textile industry. This piece was made with field recordings that were recorded in and around the still partially functioning textile machinery at TextielMuseum.
