Working on Généalogies started as an exploration of my own memory. How is it possible that a human being can bundle fragments of memories and stories together into one coherent story? In fact, these constructed stories often turn out to be drivers behind fundamental choices in daily life.

I see a strong connection between our memory as the architect of a reality and analogue sound sources. The technique is fallible, it adds flavor, tells it's own story. Imperfection builds new worlds which could only be conceived up to a certain point.

I would like to see Généalogies primarily as an ode to imperfection, or better yet: an ode to our failing memory. Go forth, forget and recreate.
